Men's Health Week (June 9-15th):
How pharmacies can make a real difference.
Men’s Health Week takes place from June 9th to 15th. This is a great opportunity for pharmacies to support men's health, both physical and mental.
Led by the Men’s Health Forum, the week aims to raise awareness and encourage men to take proactive approach to their physical and mental health. As one of the most accessible and trusted healthcare providers, pharmacist's are ideally positioned to lead the charge.
Why Men's Health Week Matters
Statistically, men are less likely to:
- Seek medical advice
- Attend routine health checks
- Discuss mental health concerns.
As a result, many preventable conditions go undiagnosed or untreated.
This is where pharmacists can step in offering accessible, judgment-free support right in the heart of the community.

Pharmacies: Frontline for Men’s Health
Pharmacies are one of the most accessible and trusted healthcare settings. Perfectly positioned to support men’s health.
With no need for an appointment, pharmacists can easily start important conversations with men about common health concerns and offer expert advice.
Encourage healthy lifestyle improvements
Use Men’s Health Week to promote lifestyle improvements such as smoking cessation, a balanced diet, regular exercise, and stress reduction. Many pharmacies offer NHS Health Checks, blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol screening, and medication advice. All of which can help men stay on top of their heart health, weight, and blood pressure.
Encourage men to stop by for a quick health check-up and learn about the services your pharmacy offers.
Support nutritional health
Nutritional gaps are common, especially among men who may skip meals or lack a balanced diet. Encourage the use of daily multivitamins, vitamin D, and other supplements to support immunity, energy, and bone health.
Use displays and online content to highlight the benefits of key nutrients and how they can fill dietary gaps.

Open the conversation on Mental Health
Men are often less likely to talk about mental health, but pharmacies can help break the stigma. Offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment for conversations.
Promote local mental health support services and helplines.
Some pharmacies also provide mental health support through NHS services, use Men’s Health Week to spotlight these options.

Promote smoking cessation and responsible drinking
Smoking Cessation Service - Help men quit smoking. NHS community pharmacies are a great place for men to receive stop-smoking advice and support.
We offer a C02 monitor that meets the requirements of this service. PiCO Smokerlyzer.
Responsible drinking: Educate on safe alcohol limits and offer practical guidance on reducing intake.
Pharmacists play a key role in raising awareness about how smoking and drinking can impact both physical and mental well-being.
